Wine Routes

Piketberg, being a predominantly wheat farming area, does not have a wine route as such. Nearby is however, and that depends on what one considers as nearby, wine routes in the Riebeeck Valley, Malmesbury and Mamre.

Further east is also Tulbagh and then testing the term nearby, Worcester and Paarl.

Depending on your route and available time, you may be able to extend your travels to incorporate a few more passes and by association, wine routes. Head on over the mountains and visit the Vredendal Wine Route.

It would be best to take some time off from work, there is just too much to discover in a day or a weekend.

There are 5 cellars situated within the Riebeeck Valley.

There is Allesverloren (one of the earliest wine estates in South Africa, and world renowned for its delicious Port).

Pulpit Rock opened in 2004, but building a reputation for award winning wines.

The Riebeek Cellars offers a wide variety of wines to suit any pocket. They also have a range of wines celebrating the harvests of outstanding wine farmers called “a Few Good Men”.

Kloovenburg wine estate offers both their award winning wines and olive oils.

Meerhof, has a unique aspect from their tasting room you can look out over our beautiful valley and in the other direction, Table Mountain.
